As Principal and CMO of LIQUID SOUL, Nelson has been instrumental in architecting targeted marketing and communications strategies for major entertainment, consumer and non-profit brands. Most notable brands include ABC Television, Disney Dreamworks, Essence Communications, General Mills, FOX Television, HBO, NBC Entertainment, STARZ, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, and Walmart.
In addition to consumer brands, Nelson is a highly sought after personal brand consultant and motivational speaker. He provides this service to Entertainers, Corporate Executives and Entrepreneurs looking to transform their personal and professional lives. Nelson is a firm believer that personal branding is more than just what you project on the outside but starts on the inside by identifying your core beliefs, values and purpose.
Over the years, Nelson has received many awards. However, the one he is most proud of is his recognition as the American Marketing Association’s “Agency Marketer of the Year.” When the Atlanta Chapter presented him the award in 2012, he became the first and only African-American to receive the honor in its 50-year history.
In his personal life, Nelson remains active in the community. He currently serves as Board Chair for the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, The 100 Black Men of Atlanta and serves as a Deacon in his church. Although Nelson holds many titles, there are none greater to him than that of husband to his college sweetheart and father to his son.
